The role of Manager, Business Operations is pivotal in supporting the Head of Business Operations with key operational functions. The individual in this position will play a vital part in ensuring smooth operations within the Business Operations Department, focusing on fund accounting, operations management, and regulatory reporting for various fund types. The Manager, Business Operations will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, including managing reports, assisting with fund-related tasks, and overseeing the activities of outsourced service providers. This individual will also play a key role in supporting projects led by the Japan office and the global headquarters. The role is designed for someone with strong experience in fund operations and a deep understanding of asset management practices, specifically in the areas of regulatory and client reporting.
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports for pension and institutional clients.
- Provide monthly factsheet reports/data for various funds to clients.
- Develop and provide ad-hoc reports as requested by clients and internal departments.
- Monitor and provide guidance to outsourced service providers to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Support fund accounting and related tasks within the department as needed.
- Contribute to projects led by both the Japan office and the global headquarters.
- Update and maintain procedures and operational manuals in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration with external stakeholders such as clients, trust banks, custodians, auditors, and outsourced service providers.
- Oversee and manage the performance of external service providers and vendors, including cost control.
- Support other departments in achieving organizational goals and objectives.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in asset management.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations within fund accounting, fund administration, regulatory reporting, and client reporting, particularly in pension funds.
- Familiarity with local regulations related to financial instruments and exchanges, as well as industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English.
