Our client, a global leader in consumer-focused branded goods, is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Brand Manager to drive brand health and consumer sales growth in the Japanese market. About the Role

Based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, this role is a senior leadership position within the marketing function. As the Senior Brand Manager, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand perception, increase the active user base, and drive sales. You will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to bring integrated campaigns to life and elevate the brand to new heights.


Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies that drive consumer demand and strengthen brand equity in Japan.
  • Own the delivery of annual sales targets through effective audience engagement and shopper activation strategies.
  • Develop and manage large-scale, integrated marketing campaigns targeting key consumer segments, including children, families, and adult enthusiasts.
  • Drive the execution of brand-building initiatives in alignment with global strategies while tailoring them to local insights.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Regional Marketing, etc.) and external partners (media agencies, creative firms, IP partners) to ensure cohesive and high-impact marketing delivery.
  • Oversee multi-channel content planning and execution across owned, earned, shared, and paid media.
  • Lead annual media planning efforts in partnership with regional teams and external media agencies.
  • Serve as a senior member of the marketing leadership team, playing a key role in team development and mentoring junior marketers.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in brand marketing, preferably within FMCG, Retail, Luxury, Apparel, or other branded consumer goods industries.
  • Strategic thinker with a solid track record of delivering end-to-end marketing programs.
  • Experience in developing integrated campaigns with strong digital and social components.
  • Strong understanding of audience-first marketing approaches and media/channel mix.
  • Data-driven mindset with a willingness to experiment, evaluate, and optimize.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in complex organizational environments with cross-functional teams.
