A leading global asset management firm is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Wholesale Sales to join its Tokyo-based team. About the Role
As a Senior Manager within the Wholesale Sales division, you will be responsible for managing relationships with key distributor accounts, including large broker-dealers, trust banks, and mega banks. You will drive fund promotion strategies and execute targeted sales initiatives for both domestic and international mutual funds. This is a hands-on role involving both strategic planning and day-to-day client interaction, ideal for someone with strong market knowledge and a passion for developing business in the asset management industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with wholesale distributors including major securities firms and regional banks.
- Promote both existing and new investment products to client sales organizations and branch offices.
- Design and execute marketing strategies to broaden product distribution across focused and non-focused client segments.
- Stay abreast of financial markets and competitor offerings to ensure a differentiated sales approach.
- Collaborate with internal teams—such as Marketing, Product Specialists, Client Services, and overseas offices—to deliver client-centric solutions.
- Support the development of a competitive position in the wholesale investment space by leveraging global expertise and resources.
- Partner with team members to support relationship management and product promotion activities.
Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years of sales experience in asset management or a related financial sector, with strong distributor network relationships.
- Product development or related experience (5+ years) is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of investment products and markets, including equities, fixed income, and foreign exchange.
- Familiarity with the investment management industry in Japan is essential.
