A global leader in advanced technology is seeking a proactive and strategic Talent Acquisition Advisor to join its high-performing HR team in Tokyo. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a recruiter who thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to lead impactful hiring initiatives that support organizational growth.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role where you will own the full recruitment lifecycle across both mid-career and graduate hiring. The Talent Acquisition team operates as a specialized function, distinct from general HR, and plays a critical role in shaping workforce strategy by partnering directly with hiring managers, business units, and global stakeholders. The position reports to a Japanese manager and requires frequent cross-functional coordination within a complex and rapidly evolving organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage full-cycle recruiting: from role intake to sourcing, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
- Build tailored hiring strategies based on market data, job specifics, and stakeholder needs.
- Partner with business leaders and HRBPs to ensure hiring plans are realistic, aligned, and executed effectively.
- Provide consultation to both local and international managers on hiring best practices, market norms, and budgeting.
- Proactively identify, engage, and nurture talent through direct sourcing, employee referrals, agency partnerships, job boards, and campus outreach.
- Drive recruiting efforts for annual graduate hiring (50–80+ engineers per year) including event planning, vendor management, and school relations (some domestic travel required).
- Collaborate closely with external vendors to scale hiring for high-volume roles, while managing their operational performance and candidate experience.
- Leverage Workday and CRM systems for pipeline management, reporting, and process optimization.
- Maintain agility in responding to shifting business needs, candidate pipelines, and urgent hiring priorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in in-house recruiting(agency or RPO backgrounds will not be considered).
- Strong command of both mid-career and graduate hiring, ideally in technical or engineering-heavy industries.
- Fluent in both Japanese and English(business level or above), with the ability to operate in cross-cultural, cross-functional environments.
- Skilled in recruiting systems such as Workday, CRMs, and sourcing tools.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity, evolving plans, and short hiring windows.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with a consultative and responsive communication style.
- Demonstrated ability to stay composed and decisive in a high-speed, complex organizational structure.
- Willingness to be onsite five days per week and travel occasionally for university outreach
Why This Role
- Play a critical role in shaping hiring strategy, not just executing requisitions.
- Join a team that values depth over breadth —this is a role for career recruiters, not generalists.
- Operate in a flat, fair, and high-trust environment, with clear frameworks for salary, approvals, and growth.
- Enjoy access to strong compensation models, including the potential for equity and performance-based rewards.
- Be part of a company that emphasizes collaboration, speed, and continuous improvement, with extremely low turnover and long employee tenure.
