Introduction: We are working on an exciting opportunity for a Country Manager position with a leading company in the food and beverage (F&B) sector. This role is pivotal in driving the company’s expansion into the Japanese market and offers the chance to be at the forefront of establishing a global brand in a highly competitive market.

About the Role: The Country Manager will play a critical role in leading the company’s market entry and growth strategy in Japan. This senior leadership position requires a strategic and hands-on approach, overseeing all aspects of the business, from operational management to building strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning the company’s ambitious goals with the local market, ensuring the brand's long-term success in Japan. 

Responsibilities:

  • Market Entry & Expansion: Lead the market entry strategy for Japan, focusing on the successful launch of the first retail locations by Q2 next year.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and consistency with global brand standards, maintaining high-quality service.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and establish partnerships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and potential joint venture partners to support the company’s growth.
  • Business Scaling: Develop and implement scalable strategies to expand operations rapidly, with the goal of opening multiple stores across Japan over the next few years.
  • Innovation & Leadership: Drive operational innovation through the implementation of automated systems and digital strategies, enhancing both e-commerce and in-store customer experiences.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a COO or CEO-level role within the F&B or retail sectors, with a strong track record of building and growing businesses from the ground up.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Japanese market, including consumer behavior, regulatory landscape, and market dynamics.
  • Fluency in Japanese is required, with proficiency in English or Mandarin being a strong advantage for internal and regional communications.
  • Experience leading large-scale operations, particularly in Japan or other competitive international markets.
  • A strategic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to innovate within a fast-paced environment.
