This is a high-impact role within the Group Digital & Data function, responsible for ensuring that AI initiatives are delivered at scale, securely, and in full alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards.

 About the Role

The Director, GenAI Digital Delivery is a senior technology and execution leader responsible for end-to-end delivery of enterprise GenAI solutions across customer, distribution, and internal platforms.

Working in close partnership with Digital Product Managers and Group GenAI leadership, this role ensures that AI initiatives move from strategy to production with strong engineering discipline, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.

The position sits within a broader GenAI ecosystem and collaborates extensively with product, platform, architecture, data, risk, and compliance stakeholders. It is not a standalone technical contributor role, but a delivery leadership position focused on execution excellence, scalability, and measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership & Execution

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of GenAI-enabled digital solutions across multiple platforms and user segments.
• Execute delivery plans aligned with enterprise GenAI strategy, architecture standards, and governance frameworks.
• Determine sequencing, resourcing, and execution approaches in collaboration with Product and GenAI leadership.
• Translate complex GenAI programs into clear milestones, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.

Engineering & Operational Excellence

• Oversee engineering and delivery teams to ensure quality, scalability, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Implement and maintain best practices in agile execution, DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering standards.
• Ensure enterprise-grade reliability, performance (uptime, latency), and defect reduction.
• Review and guide architectural proposals for digital and mobile applications.

Governance & Risk Integration

• Embed responsible AI, data privacy, security, and model governance requirements into delivery execution.
• Partner closely with Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and Data teams to ensure compliant implementation.
• Escalate material risks and provide mitigation strategies balancing speed, cost, quality, and risk.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Partner effectively with Digital Product Managers to deliver against defined roadmaps and priorities.
• Drive cross-market consistency and reuse of shared platform components.
• Build and develop high-performing engineering and delivery teams.
• Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture within a matrixed, multi-leadership environment.

Requirements

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, digital delivery, or large-scale technology implementation.
• 5+ years in senior engineering or delivery leadership roles.
• Proven experience delivering AI or GenAI-enabled digital solutions in large, complex, or regulated environments.
• Experience operating within matrixed organizations and partnering with Product Management and group-level technology functions.
• Background in financial services, insurance, or similarly regulated industries preferred.

Technical & Delivery Expertise

• Strong understanding of Generative AI delivery concepts, including large language model integration, orchestration layers, prompt frameworks, and AI-enabled services.
• Broad technical experience across cloud environments, scalable architectures, DevOps practices, and modern development frameworks.
• Experience with agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and test-driven development.
• Strong experience delivering mission-critical, large-scale systems.
• Ability to review and guide architecture and design decisions.
