Introduction

A leading global asset management firm is seeking an Associate / AVP to join its ETF Distribution team in Japan. This role offers the opportunity to support the growth of the ETF business across institutional and retail channels while gaining broad exposure to client engagement, market analysis, and business development initiatives.

About the Role

Working closely with the Head of ETF Distribution, the successful candidate will support ETF sales and distribution activities by preparing client proposals, conducting market research, and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. The role combines analytical responsibilities with client-facing exposure in a highly international environment.

Responsibilities

• Support ETF distribution activities across institutional and retail investor channels.
• Prepare client materials, proposals, and sales presentations for institutional investors and distribution partners.
• Conduct market research on ETF trends, fund flows, and competitor activity.
• Develop investment use cases and positioning materials tailored to client needs.
• Partner with marketing teams on seminars, webinars, and promotional initiatives.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams to align strategies and share market insights.
• Support sales administration and product-related operational tasks.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience within financial services, such as asset management, securities firms, or ETF-related businesses.
• Knowledge of ETFs, foreign equities, and indexed investment strategies.
• Experience using Bloomberg and strong PowerPoint / Excel skills.
• Client-facing experience in sales, relationship management, or product specialist functions.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English.
• Institutional coverage experience and professional qualifications such as CFA or CMA are preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Class-1 Sales Representative qualification required (or to be obtained after joining).
