About the Role:

The Fund Analyst (Private Assets) will play a key role within the portfolio management function, focusing on the evaluation and selection of private market investment opportunities. The position involves both investment due diligence and operational due diligence across a broad range of alternative asset classes, as well as contributing to the development of new investment solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investment due diligence on private asset funds and managers, including private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and private equity
  • Evaluate investment strategies, track records, and organizational capabilities of asset managers through detailed analysis and direct engagement
  • Perform operational due diligence, assessing areas such as IT infrastructure, compliance frameworks, internal controls, governance, and business processes
  • Develop insights into the long-term sustainability, scalability, and overall investment value of target funds
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of approved manager lists
  • Support the design and proposal of new investment strategies and solutions
  • Engage with global asset managers, including periodic international travel for on-site assessments


Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of private markets and alternative assets
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
  • Alternative asset management
  • Investment banking (with exposure to fundraising or due diligence)
  • Institutional investing, such as fund-of-funds or direct private asset investments
  • Proven experience in conducting investment or operational due diligence is preferred
  • Business-level proficiency in English and native-level Japanese
  • Professional certifications such as a securities analyst designation are advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
