Introduction
A leading global asset management firm is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Marketing to lead and transform its marketing function in Japan. Reporting directly to the CEO of Japan, this individual will play a critical role in driving brand visibility, enhancing client engagement, and supporting business growth across the retail market segment.

About the Role
The Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for the Japan business, ensuring alignment with both local business objectives and global corporate direction.
The role requires a dynamic leader who can oversee integrated marketing campaigns, manage a high-performing team, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across sales, product, compliance, and senior management functions.
The successful candidate will also drive digital transformation initiatives within marketing while ensuring all communications remain compliant with relevant regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business priorities and growth objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Manage marketing budgets, resource allocation, and overall operational efficiency.
- Define, monitor, and report key marketing KPIs to senior leadership.
Marketing Communications & Branding
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing communications across multiple channels.
- Ensure consistency of brand messaging and positioning across digital, print, social media, and event-related activities.
- Drive the creation of marketing collateral, presentations, and client-facing materials tailored to retail audiences.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver integrated marketing initiatives and campaigns.
Digital Marketing & Events
- Lead digital marketing initiatives, including website optimization, social media strategy, and online engagement campaigns.
- Develop and execute event and seminar marketing plans to increase attendance and strengthen client relationships.
- Manage cross-platform marketing and advertising campaigns to maximize reach and effectiveness.
- Identify new opportunities to enhance customer engagement through innovative digital solutions.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 10 years of marketing experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong expertise in digital marketing, branding, and integrated marketing communications.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Experience within financial services or B2B industries is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure campaign effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese.
- Type I Securities Sales Representative License is required (or must be obtained prior to joining).
