We are supporting a search for a high-caliber HRBP Project Consultant to join a premier global healthcare organization. This is a strategic search for an agile HR professional capable of driving transformative projects that directly impact the organization’s capability and talent pipeline in Japan.
As a key member of the HR leadership team, you will serve as a strategic architect of organizational change and operational excellence. Your mission is to bridge the gap between global HR strategy and local business needs, ensuring the firm possesses the leadership and talent necessary to maintain its status as a top-tier innovator in the pharmaceutical space.
In this capacity, you will report to the HR Director and function as a senior consultant across the HR value chain. You will be responsible for leading large-scale projects that align the firm's organizational design with its long-term commercial objectives, specifically supporting diverse business units from corporate functions to commercial divisions.
The role offers a sophisticated balance between high-level organizational strategy and hands-on execution. You are expected to act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, providing data-driven insights and the "courageous" consultation required to challenge the status quo and foster a culture of performance and inclusion.
- Facilitate robust talent management processes to identify and cultivate the next generation of executive leadership.
- Partner with business heads to develop and progress strategic workforce plans, including sophisticated retention and mentoring frameworks.
- Lead the implementation of diversity and inclusion practices, embedding these values into the daily habits of the leadership team.
- Drive high-impact HR projects across the Japan region, managing the change agenda to ensure seamless integration of new organizational structures.
- Execute total reward and performance management tools to recognize high achievement and elevate overall organizational output.
- Leverage advanced analytics and measurement tools to diagnose business problems and evaluate the efficacy of implemented HR solutions.
- Influence and steer stakeholders at all levels without direct authority, utilizing critical chain or Six Sigma methodologies to ensure project success.
- Intervene at the team and individual levels to improve organizational health, acting as a provocative voice to motivate the business beyond standard expectations.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of comprehensive HR experience, with a proven track record in line HR or HRBP roles (generalist experience outside of pure recruitment is essential).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Project Management: Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Critical Chain).
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in both Japanese and English (written and oral).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional "courage of conviction"—the ability to speak up against the status quo and influence senior leaders through resistance.
- Technical Savvy: Strong propensity for data analytics to drive decision-making.
- High Visibility: This role offers direct exposure to senior executive leadership and the opportunity to influence the direction of a global market leader.
- Impactful Work: You will be at the forefront of organizational transformation, moving beyond administrative HR into a true "architect" role.
- Top-Tier Culture: Join an organization that prioritizes "people first," offering a collaborative environment rooted in caring and discovery.
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy flexible work arrangements, including a robust Work From Home (WFH) policy and a discretionary "flex-time" system.
- Competitive Benefits: Access to premium corporate housing support, comprehensive medical/dental subsidies, and an industry-leading holiday allowance (125+ days per year).
