Our client, a leading global organization, is seeking an experienced HR Partner to support its business operations in Tokyo. This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working closely with employees and leadership teams, and has strong experience in HR business partnering. The selected candidate will collaborate with global and regional HR teams to drive key initiatives while ensuring alignment with local business needs.


About the Role

The HR Partner will work closely with senior leadership to shape and execute HR strategies that support business goals. This position involves a broad range of responsibilities, from talent management and organizational development to employee relations and compliance. The ideal candidate will be proactive in problem-solving, capable of navigating complex challenges, and adept at balancing global policies with local business needs. The role requires frequent collaboration with the headquarters, necessitating strong English communication skills.


Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance on workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Drive change management, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers, offering coaching on leadership, career development, and performance management.
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (COE) and HR Operations to implement HR programs effectively.
  • Utilize HR analytics tools (e.g., Workday, Workforce Dashboard) to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures from an HR perspective, ensuring smooth integration and alignment with corporate policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws while effectively communicating regional requirements to the global headquarters.
  • Manage employee relations, training initiatives, and workplace dispute resolution.
  • Actively participate in at least one enterprise-wide HR initiative annually.


Requirements
  • Proven experience as an HR Partner, preferably within a multinational organization.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex HR challenges.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Experience in working with global HR teams and balancing corporate policies with local business needs.
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English (TOEIC 800+), with strong negotiation and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week, in alignment with company policy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
