Introduction:
This role sits within the operations function of an alternative investment platform and supports the smooth execution and administration of private fund investments. The position has been created as part of a team expansion and focuses on both securities-related back-office operations and, secondarily, asset management middle/back-office functions. The role is well suited for an experienced operations professional with exposure to domestic and offshore alternative funds.
A bout the role:
The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for back-office operations related to the private placement of domestic and foreign alternative funds, while also supporting middle/back-office activities for discretionary investment management mandates investing in such funds. The scope of work spans regulatory documentation, transaction support, reporting, and operational coordination across internal stakeholders.
responsibilities:
Primary responsibility – Securities-related back-office operations (private placements of alternative funds):
- Preparation of offering-related documentation, including product summaries, confirmation documents, and resale restriction notices
- Handling regulatory filings and reports under applicable investment trust and securities regulations (e.g., notifications, issuance and redemption reporting)
- Supporting and verifying internal operational processes, including qualified investor procedures, transaction communication, and client identity verification at the time of trade execution
Secondary responsibility – Investment management middle/back-office operations (subject to workload of primary duties):
- Cash flow and NAV data input, preparation and submission of trade instructions, and month-end trust valuation confirmation
- Preparation of client reports, including statutory investment reports, as well as reporting materials for consultants and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Practical experience in middle/back-office operations related to the private placement of domestic and/or offshore alternative funds
- Solid understanding of securities transaction processes and regulatory frameworks (including qualified investor schemes and KYC at execution)
- Business-level English reading ability sufficient to understand documentation related to offshore funds (writing and speaking are rarely required)
- Strong PC skills, particularly Excel (ability to independently create and use formulas), as well as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Typically suitable for professionals in their 30s to 40s
Why apply:
This is an attractive opportunity to join a stable and growing alternative investment platform in a hands-on operational role with broad exposure to both securities and asset management processes. The position offers depth rather than sales pressure, making it ideal for candidates who value accuracy, structure, and long-term professional development in the alternative investment space.
