Our client is a leading global asset management organization seeking a Retail Product Marketing Specialist to join its Tokyo-based marketing team. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in developing and executing marketing initiatives that support the growth of the firm's retail investment business. The successful candidate will work closely with product marketing, sales, and other internal stakeholders to deliver compelling marketing campaigns and investor communications.


 About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Retail Product Marketing, this role is responsible for planning and executing integrated marketing initiatives that support retail distribution efforts across a broad range of investment solutions. The position combines strategic marketing, content development, project management, and vendor coordination to help strengthen brand awareness and support business growth.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of marketing materials, investor education content, digital campaigns, webinars, and other promotional initiatives designed to engage retail investors and distribution partners.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies in partnership with product marketing, sales, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Create and manage a wide range of marketing materials, including presentations, reports, digital content, videos, and website content.
  • Develop compelling investment narratives and educational content that effectively communicate market insights and investment concepts.
  • Support promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives designed to enhance product awareness and drive business opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate webinars, events, and other marketing programs targeting retail investors and distribution channels.
  • Manage external vendors, including advertising agencies, design firms, printing providers, and web development partners.
  • Participate in vendor selection processes and oversee ongoing vendor relationships to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing activities align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience within the asset management industry or broader investment management sector.
  • At least 1 year of experience in product marketing, retail marketing, or a related marketing function.
  • Experience creating sales and marketing materials for investment-related products and services.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment principles.
  • Familiarity with investment fund structures, industry regulations, and market practices.
  • Proven project management and vendor management experience.


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Strong presentation and content development capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear and engaging marketing messages.
  • Well-developed creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions and seniority levels.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA, CMA, or equivalent investment-related qualification.
  • Solid understanding of investment theory, portfolio management concepts, investment styles and methodologies, and global financial markets.
  • Ability to create effective and engaging marketing content for sophisticated investment audiences.
