Our client, a multinational enterprise headquartered in Tokyo, seeks a seasoned Senior HR Business Partner to advise corporate function leaders and drive people and organizational initiatives aligned with the company’s mid-term plan. The role blends strategic partnership with hands-on execution across talent, organization design, and performance.
About the Role
- Serve as a trusted advisor to top management and senior leaders within corporate functions.
- Translate business strategy into integrated people plans covering resource, talent, and performance management.
- Lead organizational development and change initiatives that enable ongoing business transformation.
- Act as the HR representative for assigned departments, ensuring smooth operation of HR programs and processes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement HR strategies tied to transformation (e.g., talent acquisition, succession planning, resource management).
- Drive organization design and change management to support evolving business needs.
- Provide HR strategy consultation and executive coaching to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee and optimize HR systems and processes for supported functions.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve talent quality, workforce deployment, and total labor cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience as an HR Business Partner supporting leadership teams (management interfacing, advising division heads, coaching leaders, localizing global initiatives).
- Business-level English proficiency.
- Preferred: Experience collaborating with global Centers of Excellence and HRBPs in multinational settings.
- Strong ability to analyze ambiguous, fast-moving situations and take initiative on next steps.
- Personal attributes: executive presence, trust-building with senior leaders, hypothesis-driven problem solving, and interest in technology-enabled solutions (e.g., IT/DX/AI) to address social and business challenges.
