Introduction

Our client, a global leader in the healthcare and technology sector, is seeking a highly motivated Talent Acquisition Manager to lead and transform its recruitment strategies in Japan. This is a replacement role due to the departure of the previous incumbent, and the company is committed to enhancing its talent acquisition function through direct sourcing and employer branding initiatives. The selected candidate will play a key role in shaping the hiring strategy and ensuring the organization attracts top-tier talent in a competitive market.


About the Role

The Talent Acquisition Manager will be responsible for overseeing all talent acquisition activities in Japan, reporting to the regional HR leadership based in India. This role involves leading a small but dedicated team, driving direct sourcing strategies, and positioning the company as an employer of choice. The successful candidate will be part of the HR Leadership Team and will have a significant impact on recruitment transformation efforts.

  • Title: Talent Acquisition Manager (Head of TA)
  • Location: Tokyo preferred (Osaka possible), hybrid/remote with office visits required (3-4 times a month)
  • Compensation: Up to 15M JPY(Base salary + 20% bonus)
  • Reporting to: Regional HR leadership in India
  • Team Structure: Includes internal recruiters and contract-based recruitment support


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the talent acquisition team in Japan, ensuring efficient resource allocation and alignment with business needs.
  • Develop and implement direct sourcing strategies, reducing dependency on external agencies.
  • Drive employer branding initiatives to enhance the company’s reputation as an attractive employer.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing to onboarding, across various levels and functions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR partners to optimize recruitment processes and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve hiring efficiency, candidate experience, and recruitment metrics.
  • Stay updated on labor market trends and industry best practices to enhance talent acquisition strategies.
  • Provide strategic guidance on talent planning, workforce diversity, and future hiring needs.


Requirements

  • Proven track record in talent acquisition with a strong emphasis on direct sourcing and recruitment transformation.
  • At least 5 years of HR/Talent Acquisition experience, including 2+ years in a people management role.
  • Deep understanding of recruitment strategies, employer branding, and talent market dynamics in Japan.
  • Experience hiring across different levels and functions, ideally within the medical/healthcare, technology, or industrial sectors(preferred but not mandatory).
  • Fluent Japanese (native-level) and business-level English.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment with regional/global reporting structures.
  • Ability to operate in a hybrid/remote work setup, with a willingness to travel to the office as required.
