About the Role:
As the Manager Total Rewards, Japan, you will lead the strategic management of compensation and benefits within our dynamic multinational organization.
Your role will be pivotal in ensuring competitive rewards programs that align with regulatory standards and support our workforce across Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Report directly to the HR/General Affairs Director and collaborate closely with the AP Total Rewards Director and their team to shape and execute comprehensive C&B strategies.
- Policy Management: Oversee the development, evaluation, and adjustment of compensation and benefits policies to maintain competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements.
- Performance and Incentives: Manage job evaluations, annual merit increase processes, and incentive bonus programs for sales and non-sales teams.
- Financial Oversight: Control personnel expenses through annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
- HRIS and Vendor Management: Supervise SAP & SuccessFactors HRIS operations and vendor relationships in C&B areas such as DB/DC, payroll, and social insurance.
- Employee Relations: Collaborate with HR Business Partners to address employee issues and liaise with local authorities as necessary.
- Project Leadership: Participate in and lead relevant global and domestic projects to enhance C&B practices and support business objectives.
- Team Supervision: Directly manage a team comprising 1 HR specialist and 1-2 temporary contractors, ensuring cohesive collaboration and performance excellence.
Requirements:
- Experience: More than 10 years in Compensation & Benefits leadership roles within multinational environments.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Law, or Economics preferred.
- Certification: Health & Safety Management certification (preferred).
- Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese and proficient in English (TOEIC 800+).
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and proficiency in MS Office and HRIS tools.
