As the VP of Engineering candidate, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and scaling of the engineering organization. This is a leadership position requiring a strong track record in organizational development, team management, and technical leadership. You will work cross-functionally to enhance performance, enable scalable engineering processes, and guide the technical growth of the company.
- Design and build an engineering organization aligned with long-term product and business goals
- Lead engineering recruitment and drive initiatives to scale the team
- Create systems to maximize organizational performance and support team onboarding
- Oversee company-wide Developer Experience (DevEx) initiatives
- Plan and execute optimal staffing strategies, including intra-team transitions
- Mentor and evaluate engineering managers and team members
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 sessions to promote engagement and professional growth
- Elevate company-wide technical proficiency through knowledge-sharing practices
- Develop and refine engineer performance evaluation frameworks
- Proven experience in managing and developing engineering teams of 20+ members
- Strong background in people management and talent development
- Experience in technical branding and implementing recruitment strategies
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling engineering organizations
- Previous experience as a CTO or VP of Engineering
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
- Leadership experience in fast-growing or scaling companies
- Strategic planning skills for engineering and technology roadmaps
- Hands-on experience with creating and operating engineer evaluation systems
- Active involvement in technical recruitment and employer branding
