Introduction
A leading global asset management firm is seeking an Assistant Compliance Officer to join its Japan Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior compliance professional to gain broad exposure across regulatory and business compliance within an international financial services environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Japan, the successful candidate will support day-to-day compliance activities, regulatory filings, and internal advisory functions. The role will involve close interaction with business stakeholders while helping ensure the firm operates in accordance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Review sales materials, client communications, and business-related documents from a compliance perspective.
- Support day-to-day regulatory filings and reporting activities.
- Provide compliance guidance on business matters, incidents, and ad hoc regulatory questions.
- Assist in maintaining and updating internal policies and procedures.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and support ongoing business initiatives.
- Liaise with regulators and support regulatory communications where required.
- Promote compliance awareness and adherence to regulatory standards across the organization.
Requirements
- 0–3 years of compliance experience within financial services or asset management.
- Exposure to regulatory or business compliance functions is preferred.
- Fluent Japanese and English communication skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to develop within a compliance career.
- Training or coaching experience would be advantageous.
