We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead and develop a high-performing Business Development Representative (BDR) team. This is a highly visible and impactful role that requires strong leadership, coaching, operational excellence, and a passion for developing talent.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving team performance, ensuring consistent achievement of pipeline and quota targets, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, coach, and manage the day-to-day activities and performance of BDR team members.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide ongoing feedback to ensure individual and team goals are achieved.
- Hire, onboard, and ramp new BDRs, including training on products, buyer personas, competitive positioning, sales tools, and prospecting methodologies.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions focused on time management, objection handling, prospecting strategies, active listening, and value-based selling.
- Foster a high-performance culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Partner closely with Sales and Marketing teams to develop pipeline generation strategies and prospecting initiatives.
- Ensure opportunities are effectively qualified against established criteria.
- Build and maintain prospecting resources, best practices, and enablement materials for the team.
- Drive consistent execution and operational excellence across all outbound activities.
Operations & Reporting
- Track and analyze team performance metrics, pipeline generation, forecasting, hiring plans, and other key business indicators.
- Maintain accurate reporting and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and team effectiveness.
- Manage performance proactively and address challenges in real time.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate effectively with local, regional, and global stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and professionally across functions and leadership levels.
- Support business objectives through strong cross-functional partnerships and strategic alignment.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured across three primary areas:
- Achievement of team pipeline and quota targets
- Operational excellence, including forecasting, reporting, process management, and workforce planning

Requirements
Language Skills
- Fluent Japanese and business-level English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Professional Experience
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience.
- At least 1 year of leadership experience as a Team Lead, Manager, or equivalent.
- Proven success in outbound sales and pipeline generation environments.
- Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring BDRs, SDRs, or inside sales teams is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, regional, or global organization.
