About the Role

The Pension Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business development and relationship management activities across both defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pension clients in Japan. Reporting to the Head of Pension Sales, the role requires a combination of sales expertise, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve business growth targets.


Responsibilities

  • Lead sales activities with DB and DC prospects, including pension funds and plan sponsors, as well as existing clients.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs from public pensions and other institutional clients.
  • Strengthen client relationships through regular review meetings, timely responses to inquiries, and proactive cross-selling of new solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with consultants and plan sponsors to identify client needs and create new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across institutional sales and client service teams to support overall business objectives.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date client records and meeting notes in the firm’s CRM system.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DB pension sales; experience in DC business is highly desirable.
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency (written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate and timely responses to client requests and RFPs.
  • Team-oriented mindset with respect for collaboration and mutual support.
  • Flexible, positive attitude, and resilience in a fast-changing environment.
  • Solid PC literacy, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly investment management.
  • High standards of integrity, work ethic, and ownership of results.
