Our client, a leading global institutional investment solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Alternative Investment Product Manager to join its Tokyo office. This is a senior-level opportunity for an investment professional with deep expertise in alternative investments and institutional asset management to play a key role in expanding the firm's business in Japan.

Leveraging a global investment platform, extensive manager research capabilities, and sophisticated multi-manager investment solutions, the successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and institutional clients to develop and promote investment solutions for the Japanese market.

 About the Role

As the Alternative Investment Product Manager, you will serve as the product specialist for alternative investment strategies, with a particular focus on private assets. Acting as the bridge between investment teams, sales, and clients, you will support business development efforts by providing product expertise, developing market strategies, and delivering high-quality investment solutions to institutional investors.

This is a highly visible role that also involves representing the firm through seminars, industry events, and media engagements while contributing to both short-term and long-term product strategy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales, portfolio management, and other internal teams to lead client engagement and business development initiatives.
• Provide product expertise and investment insights to institutional investors, including corporate pension funds, public pension funds, and other institutional clients.
• Support the development and promotion of institutional investment solutions, particularly in the alternative investment space.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate short-term and long-term product strategies for the Japanese market.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, seminars, and client events, and contribute to thought leadership and market visibility.
• Deliver product presentations and investment updates to both prospective and existing clients.
• Work closely with global investment teams to leverage international research, investment capabilities, and best practices.

Requirements

• Approximately 10–15 years of experience within the asset management or investment industry.
• Strong expertise in alternative investments, particularly private asset strategies.
• Experience working with a broad range of investment products and investment strategies.
• Experience presenting investment solutions to institutional investors such as corporate or public pension funds is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, CAIA, or equivalent are advantageous.
• Business-level English with experience collaborating with global teams and international stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience speaking at industry seminars, conferences, or engaging with the media is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of global investment research and multi-manager investment solutions is an advantage.
