About the Role
This is a highly visible commercial leadership role responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for the company's business information and data solutions offering in Japan. The successful candidate will lead growth initiatives across multiple sales channels, including direct sales, partnerships, brokers, and technology platforms, while working closely with regional and global stakeholders.
The position offers the opportunity to shape market strategy, influence product development, build strategic partnerships, and play a key role in scaling the business for future growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Japan go-to-market strategy for business information and data solutions.
- Drive revenue growth through direct sales, channel partnerships, alliances, and cross-selling initiatives.
- Build and manage relationships with strategic partners, industry associations, and key clients.
- Identify market opportunities and develop business plans to expand market share.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams on product positioning, market strategy, and business development initiatives.
- Provide sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
- Support the future growth and development of the local sales team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 10–15 years of experience in channel sales, partnership sales, business development, or related commercial roles.
- Proven track record launching new products, entering new markets, or building new customer segments.
- Experience selling data, information, analytics, risk management, or business intelligence solutions.
- Strong understanding of the data ecosystem and its application within corporate decision-making processes.
- Established network within the Japanese market and relevant industries.
- Fluent Japanese and English with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to execution.
