We are supporting a leading global investment platform in their search for a Senior Equity Analyst (VP–ED level). The successful candidate will join a high-performing research team and take ownership of coverage within key sectors, contributing directly to the firm’s investment insights and client engagement activities.
About the Role
The Senior Equity Analyst will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on Japanese listed companies within one of the following sector groups:
- Electronics / Hardware / Technology
- Consumer
- Domestic Services (e.g., transportation, construction, software, and related sub-industries)
This role requires strong analytical capabilities, a commercial mindset, and the ability to clearly communicate investment views to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental research on assigned Japanese listed companies, including company visits, management meetings, and ongoing monitoring of corporate and industry developments.
- Produce and publish rated equity research reports with clear, insightful investment opinions.
- Engage with clients and internal sales teams to discuss key industry trends, corporate updates, and published views.
- Respond to client inquiries and information requests in accordance with compliance guidelines.
- Participate in marketing trips outside Japan to meet clients and present sector outlooks and stock recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in investment research, equity analysis, or related analytics.
- Strong interest in equity research with a high level of commercial awareness.
- Self-motivated, open-minded, and able to work with a positive and proactive approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English; proficiency in Chinese is advantageous.
