About the Role
As Senior Manager, Institutional Sales, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s institutional client base and deepening existing relationships. Reporting to the Head of Institutional Sales, you will be responsible for winning new mandates, cross-selling solutions, and contributing to overall business development objectives across the institutional channel.
Responsibilities
- Acquire mandates through sales activity with corporate and public pension funds as well as financial institutions.
- Cross-sell solutions to existing clients and identify opportunities to expand relationships.
- Generate and propose new product ideas tailored to institutional clients.
- Support the Head of Institutional Sales in achieving overall sales objectives.
- Collaborate with other teams in preparing pitch books, client reports, portfolio reviews, and responding to RFPs.
- Ensure smooth client onboarding and provide ongoing support for institutional client needs.
- Actively engage with overseas offices, gathering insights and exchanging perspectives.
- Conduct competitor analysis and market intelligence where appropriate.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience within the asset management industry.
- Strong sales drive with a consultative, solution-oriented mindset.
- Business-level fluency in English and native/near-native fluency in Japanese (spoken and written).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex investment products.
- Team-oriented, with high integrity and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
- Results-driven, strategic thinker with proven ability to achieve business targets.
