Senior Talent Acquisition Manager

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner (or Talent Acquisition Manager) to be based in Tokyo, Japan, reporting to the Head of People, Japan. This role involves managing the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, focusing on direct sourcing, and providing exceptional hiring manager and candidate experiences. You will partner with hiring managers, build talent pipelines, initiate employer branding activities, and ensure compliance with local regulations and global processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with, consult, and advise hiring managers throughout the entire recruitment lifecycle.
  • Identify and source exceptional diverse talent for open roles (permanent, fixed-term contracts, internships, etc.).
  • Build talent pipelines for business growth, succession planning, and replacement hires.
  • Create unique ways to source candidates directly, significantly reducing third-party agency spend.
  • Initiate employer branding activities and establish strong relationships with relevant organizations and universities to attract and develop STEM students, especially Ph.D. talents.
  • Conduct in-depth consultation meetings with hiring managers and the Japan People Partners to align candidate sourcing activities with role requirements.
  • Provide counsel on all resourcing-related matters to HR, hiring managers, and the wider TA team.
  • Understand and embed global processes into new countries while adhering to local laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Ensure candidates receive a highly positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Support and facilitate the assessment, interviewing, and offer process.
  • Actively manage relationships with preferred suppliers to meet criteria around diversity and candidate experience.
  • Use data to provide insights to hiring managers on recruitment activity, candidate experience, and the resourcing lifecycle.
  • Participate in project workstreams to drive and deliver future resourcing functions' objectives.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • At least 10 years of in-depth recruiting/talent advisory experience.
  • Experience leading TA relevant projects (e.g., employer branding activities).
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive and initiate.
  • Labour market expertise with good pipeline management.
  • Providing exceptional employee and candidate experience.
  • Experience in hiring STEM/Ph.D. candidates is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (both in English and Japanese).
  • Delivering results and fostering collaboration and teamwork with business partners and team members in a virtual capacity.
