Vice President Sales & Marketing

The Vice President will lead the Sales & Alliance Marketing Department, overseeing domestic, international, and group sales functions, as well as partner collaboration initiatives. The role requires a strong combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and operational excellence to guide cross-functional teams and deliver business objectives. This leader will also serve as a key bridge between Japan-based teams and global marketing counterparts in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute sales and alliance marketing strategies aligned with company-wide goals.
  • Utilize consumer insights and market intelligence to inform business decisions and identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with senior executives and global teams to support overall marketing strategy formulation.
  • Sales Management
  • Oversee domestic, international, and group sales operations, ensuring performance against KPIs.
  • Manage web ticket store operations and enhance the digital guest experience through collaboration with internal digital and technology teams.
  • Drive promotions with partner hotels, travel agencies, and transport companies to boost sales.
  • Partnership & Alliance Development
  • Build and strengthen relationships with domestic and international travel industry partners.
  • Lead joint promotional initiatives that drive mutual business growth.
  • Establish strategic partnerships, particularly in the MICE and group travel markets.
  • International Engagement
  • Deepen collaboration with key partners in Asian markets.
  • Coordinate closely with regional representatives to collect and analyze market data and trends.
  • People & Organizational Development
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 40 professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee budget management and resource allocation.
  • Build organizational capacity to support future growth and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • Proven experience in strategic marketing, B2B sales, and partnership management at a senior level.
  • Strong background in project management and cross-functional leadership.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both Japanese and English (spoken and written).
  • Advanced negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with a track record of data-driven decision-making.
