Introduction

We are partnering with a leading global provider of investment solutions to hire a VP Consultant for its Analytics division in Tokyo. This is a highly visible client-facing role, working with institutional investors to deliver market-leading analytics and risk management expertise.


About the Role

The VP Consultant will be responsible for managing and expanding client relationships across a defined territory, working closely with the sales team and other internal stakeholders. Acting as a Trusted Advisor, this role ensures clients maximize the value of their subscriptions by aligning solutions with their investment and risk management needs. The position involves senior-level engagement, product demonstrations, client training, and representing the firm at workshops, seminars, and webinars.


Responsibilities

  • Lead overall relationship management to enhance client experience and satisfaction, improving year-on-year retention rates.
  • Develop and execute detailed account plans, engaging with all levels of client organizations.
  • Deliver client education and training on analytics and risk management solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, addressing technical client inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to expand solution usage and drive cross-selling and up-selling initiatives.
  • Share best practices and provide thought leadership through workshops and seminars.
  • Stay current on industry trends, client needs, and product developments, collaborating with sales, marketing, research, and product teams.
  • Conduct extensive client site visits to strengthen engagement.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline; MBA, Master’s in Finance, or PhD preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or CMA are highly desirable.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a relevant role (e.g., quantitative research, trading, risk management).
  • Strong knowledge of risk models, optimization techniques, and performance attribution.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python.
  • Solid understanding of global equity and fixed income markets, including OTC securities, derivatives, and structured products.
  • Knowledge of the Japanese investment industry, including asset managers, broker/dealers, and pension funds.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal).
  • Excellent communication, time management, and client engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
